Course Description
An Extremely Hazardous Substance (EHS) Facility Emergency Response Plan is required by the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and establishes guidance for both Facility Emergency Coordinators and Emergency Responders in the case of an incident involving an Extremely Hazard Substance (EHS). The plan covers critical information regarding the EHS and how it is handled by the facility, response points, staging areas, and protective actions to be used in a chemical emergency. Each participant will have the opportunity to initiate and complete one EHS Facility Emergency Response Plan during the course. There will also be extensive guidance regarding Tier II submission and the List of Lists.
Student Criteria
This course is open to all Local Emergency Planning Committee members or Emergency Management personnel having responsibility for EHS Facility Emergency Response Plan submission in the Tier II Manager Planning Module. Bring a computer or other device that will allow you to access your Tier II files and work on a Tier II ESH Plan. No pre-requisites required to attend. Special Notes This class will count as one of the required EMPG exercises for this year. A maximum of fifty (50) participants will be accepted. You are considered accepted as a participant in this workshop upon receipt of your application. Letters of acceptance will not be sent. Meals, lodging, and travel expenses are the responsibility of the student and will NOT be reimbursed by KYEM.
