Active Shooter Preparedness

Henderson Emergency Management and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) aim to enhance preparedness through a “whole community” approach by providing  products, tools, and resources to help you prepare for and respond to an active shooter incident. More information can be found at the Department of Homeland Security website.

This video demonstrates possible actions to take if confronted with a active shooter scenario. The instructive video reviews the choices of evacuating, hiding, or, as an option of last resort, challenging the shooter. To visit the video website go to:
