A White Flag Alert has been issued by Henderson Emergency Management in cooperation with the Homeless Coalition of Henderson County for temperatures or wind chills that fall below 32 degrees. These alerts can be for one or more days and offer warm shelters to people who are homeless or otherwise unsheltered. The alert will remain in effect until temperatures or wind chills rebound above freezing.

When: Friday – November 29, 2024 through Friday, December 6, 2024. (subject to change)
Where: Two existing shelters listed below will be accepting homeless or otherwise unsheltered people in need of sheltering during the alert period:

Hours of Operation: Open 24×7 during the alert period.
Transportation: Transportation to and from the warming shelters within The City of Henderson will be provided at no cost by the Henderson Area Rapid Transit (HART) bus system. Notify the bus driver at the bus stop that you need to go to the shelter. You can also be taken back to the bus stop you originated from. If you prefer, you can ride the bus at no charge during business hours as a source for warming. The HART bus schedule in the City of Henderson is 8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Saturday.
